HURRICANE air movers provide high volumes of air with NO MOVING PARTS for many applications, with compressed air or steam. Our units are suited for use in hazardous atmospheric locations.

The HURRICANE blowers are used on supplying or exhausting applications such as tanks, towers, refineries, process plants, pressure vessels, cooling and drying applications, confined work areas. manholes, cargo holes, foundries, sand blasting areas, and shipyard applications.

The HURRICANE'S venturi design works on a basic principle using a series of small orifices located in the aluminum housing, positioned to expand the air or steam downstream from the inlet throat and accelerate the slower moving air in the diffuser and increase the velocity through the conical shaped diffuser.

Principle of Operation

In the HURRICANE, air or steam enters a concentric manifold chamber surrounding a venturi throat. A series of orifices located symmetrically around the chamber are positioned to expand the air or steam into the reaction zone downstream of the throat. It is here that the high velocity air or steam imparts its energy to slower moving air and accelerates it which in turn draws more air through the throat into the reaction zone. Direction and expansion rate of the accelerated air is controlled by a conical-shaped diffuser.
